This place never lets you down.  I've been here many times for anniversaries, birthdays, celebrating my wifes's graduation or for no special reason at all.  I usually get the cajun fillet with au gratin potatos and it is always cooked to perfection.  The swordfish, salmon and scallop entrees are amazing as well.  The wood-fired grill gives everything a perfect hint of smokiness, not overpowering at all.
The waitstaff is superb and extremely knowledgeable about any questions you might have.  The drinks are always flawless too.  I always get the J. Gilbert's Manhattan.  It comes with the most flavorful cherries I've ever had anywhere.  My wife loves the Vodka martini with blue cheese stuffed olives.
This has been my "go-to" place for at least 6 years now.  I used to live 5 minutes away from it which was a beautiful thing.  Now I'm 20 minutes away but I'm sure I'll continue going there just as often.

    Any meal at J Gilbert's is a 10!

My husband and I met some friends here for dinner. We started with a drink in the bar and was greeted by a very friendly and knowledgable bar tender.

Our server was great - very knowledgable about both the drink and the food menu and joined right in with our banter, which I always appreciate.

We shared a shellfish platter which was beautiful and delicious. Then I decided to stray from my normal order and went for one of the specials - almond crusted halibut over orzo and grilled broccolini. It was GREAT. I typically get the steak combo (4oz filet and scallops are my choice), but this was a great change of pace.

I ended the evening with a cappuccino and a slice of carrot cake which I couldn't photograph before my husband took some bites.

Our server made us aware of a coupon that was sent out to the loyalty members - we were able to save some money on our meal when we found it in our inbox. Nice of him to make us aware

If you enjoy great service, food and drinks do yourself a favor and visit j Gilbert's.

This continues to be my favorite steakhouse in town. I took my boyfriend here for a surprise dinner, and we were once again pleased with our meal. I called ahead and told them it was an anniversary, and we were pleasantly surprised to find heart confetti across our table.

Our server (I think his name was Derek) was extremely knowledgeable, checked in on us the appropriate amount and was so friendly. He answered all our questions about the menu, too.

My boyfriend and I chose to split the Caesar salad, and the kitchen did it for us to we didn't have to eat from the same plate. We wouldn't have minded, but we're just shocked they split it for us because we mentioned we were going to share it to our server.

Our food was incredible. We both got the 4 oz Filet Combinations with Jump Lump Crabcakes. Holy crap. Both the steaks and crabcakes were cooked perfectly, and the crabcake came with a spicy mayo type of sauce on the side which really complemented it. For our sides, I got sautéed spinach and poblano au gratin potatoes, and my boyfriend got asparagus and lobster Mac and cheese. The lobster Mac was too die for, and being a huge fan of scalloped potatoes, I really enjoyed the au gratin ones.

Can't wait to come back here for our birthdays next month!

My husband and I met friends here for dinner for the first time ever last night.  This is a 5+ Star restaurant.  The food was phenomenal & the service was excellent!!   Our waiter was extremely professional & knowledgeable -very high class!  The food came out quick and all was delivered to the table at the same time - cooked to perfection.  My husbands mind was blown when he tried the pastrami flavored butter.  This is the first restaurant that I feel truly deserves 5 star! I cannot think of another resturant that even compares to J.Gilberts.  How this place doesn't have a Michelin Star is beyond me.  We will be back & we will be telling our favorite foodies to go to J. Gilbert's!

For those of you who are curious about JGilberts, I want to first say that the customer service is exceptional. The managers and waitstaff are overly accommodating.  Great people especially Sheila (the manager).

I came here for a wedding and the displays of food are beautiful.   When reviewing banquets it may not represent the restaurant quality,  so please keep this in mind.  As far as the seafood platter, it did not have much flavor.  Usually you can taste the salt, brine but these were more like when you boil seafood and use too much water.  This however, could be the seafood itself and not the preparation.   I had the steak and ask for a med-well.  Normally I would have a med but I have learned that when at a large luncheon many people have issues with consistency.   This was no exception.   My steak was a thinner cut and therefore, was dry when it came.  Others at my table had the med and each had a different consistencys.   The flavor was ok.

My neighbor had the salmon and she said it was good.  The lobster salad look amazing also.  The creme brulee was one of the best I have had so far.  I could have eaten a bowl of it.  Others really enjoyed the deserts as well. Kutos  to the pastry chef.
Like I stated earlier, in order to be fair about the food, I will have to visit during regular hours. I would also encourage others to do the same.
